Anne Atkins, a writer and broadcaster living in Cambridge, shares a song – He’ll Soon Come to Call Me – that she wrote for her father and mother shortly before he died on 16 March 2020 aged 102. Her son Ben arranged the music and brought together virtually musicians and singers for the performance that the Coronavirus pandemic denied them at David Briggs’ funeral.

In Bristol, another Ben - Ben England - leads the Quarantine Choir (www.homechoir.uk) and is using his talent to bring ‘home-made music’ to over 1700 subscribers in isolation who love singing. Each Quarantine Choir session includes breathing and warm-up exercises before learning a new piece.

On March 30th the choir were learning My Lagan Love, with the session culminating in a performance as a tribute to the arranger Eric Wetherell.
